Ni Hao Games CD-ROM
This software is based on the simplified character editions and is designed to reinforce the language learnt throughout the course and is designed for school use only.
When learning a foreign language it is vital that the audio resources are of the best quality. All Ni Hao Games software feature professionally recorded high quality audio spoken by professional announcers.
The material is spoken by native speakers and has six games.- Ni Hao Characters guides the students to write characters in the correct stroke order.
- Ni Hao Expressions reinforces students learning of words and expressions in the Ni Hao textbook.
- Ni Hao Memory familiarizes students with words and terms learnt in the Ni Hao textbook.
- Ni Hao Construction consolidates students learning of characters and sentence patterns.
- Ni Hao Mahjong is to familiarize students with all the characters to be learnt in each lesson.
- Ni Hao Quick Pick reinforces students understanding of the structure of characters learnt in each lesson.

Games third edition:
As a result of teacher feedback there are changes in the Games software for the third edition textbooks.
General:- Better looking interface.
- No longer needed to 'Login'. At the end of each individual game you can print your score which is displayed as a percent with time taken.
- For MacOSX, most games feature a more animated and modern experience.
Characters Game:
- When in a test you don't lose a coin if you accidently release the mouse button in the middle of a correct stroke.
Expressions Game:
- In selecting a choice you can just select another if you change your mind. Then submit your answer.
- When correct, the teacher and class can discuss it, if needed, before moving onto the next question.
Memory Game:
- No longer losing coins used as a timer. A proper timer is used and you are rewarded each time you select a matching pair.
- It's easier to get 100% but it's the time taken that counts as well.
Construction Game:
- You can place characters anywhere on the sentence blocks and can also change your mind and move them to new positions. Then submit your answer.
- If incorrect, the incorrect characters don't automatically move back, they are marked and you move them off the sentence yourself as it makes it easier to see your mistakes.
- After two attempts, if still incorrect, the correct sentence is still displayed below but with incorrect characters marked for easy comparison.
Mahjong Game:

Quick Pick Game:
- Less characters to click and so it's easier to find them all.
- You are now rewarded with two coins for each correct character, but lose a coin for an incorrect character.
- For MacOS X, it's much more 'game like' than the previous version.
Minimum system requirements are:-

- Mouse recommended (rather than just a Track Pad)
