Ni Hao 2 is the second level of the series and is ideally suited to students of around 13 to 15 years old in year 9 or 10 of junior high school. As in Ni Hao 1, Chinese characters are used extensively throughout the text and is accompanied by Pinyin which acts as a guide to pronunciation. Pinyin is gradually omitted as the student becomes familiar with the characters and vocabulary.
Adults with some prior knowledge of Mandarin Chinese may find this level more suitable than Ni Hao 1.
This level introduces more than 440 words and phrases and there are 140 characters to be learnt to write.
The textbook includes the Ni Hao Language Lab Textbook Edition CD-ROM.
